Just got back from harbour village 3/7-3/14. very nice place, lush, quiet, but lie someone said befre the rooms are dark even wth all the lights on and the A/C would wake up the dead. Food was good at the 4 restaurants service was great and the spa was the best part. Snorkeling was just as someone describedwith alot of rubble from lenny, still lots of fish right in front, along with the 4 hungry iguanas at balandras plus 2 cats at wooks. Richards near the divi was outstanding, we ate there twice, Capricios in town best food and service we ever had in the carribean!. Mangrove kayak tour is a must along with Jerry Ligon and the bird tour. Air Jamaica is the best airline I have ever flown[being a airline pilot I know], they waited over an hour in Montego bay for us from New York. Island tour also a must. we thought the water was unusually cold 74-76 degrees plus very windy the whole week s snorkeling was not as good as we expected especially Klein with rough seas and lots of jelly fish! we will be back when its calmer May June July, we didnt know march and april were the windy seasons. any questions feel free to contact us as this is a great destintion!

John, Enjoy your report except for the "windy" part. We are @ 12 days and counting. Hope for a come back suggesting some "sheltered sites". You provide some interesting alternates in case snorkeling is doubtful. The nice thing about current reports is less disappointment and better preparation. Thax for that.

John, FYI - May, June and July are also considered part of the windy season. In fact June has the highest average wind speeds for the entire year. September and October have the lowest average. By the way, I hope your better at flying than you are at typing! (just kidding).

what should we expect in early April -- very windy with choppy seas or just breezy?

What we found @ the end of Feb., was that if it qas choppy on the northern sites, then the southern ones tended to be calmer. And the reverse. We always found some place to snorkel!! And yes, depending on the currents the jelly fish could be a problem, they did seem to be concentrated between Divi and the Andreas. One day they were all over Bari, we went to Ole Blue and saw none. Also saw none @ Salt pier, invisables, and Margate. Bottom line.....there's always good snorkeling, some days you just have to look harder than others. And yes I will do a trip report,I'm just still trying to re-adjust to the rat race.

Just returned from our 6th stay @ HV. Great as always. I agree the water temp was a little cooler than it is during the summer and there was some ocean chop. But where else in the Caribbean are you going to get guaranteed Sun and great Diving? We had two incredible meals @ Capriccio. Lola and Andrea are super people. We also enjoyed immensely "It Rains Fishes". Definitely the best & freshest seafood on the Island.
