I would like to suggest setting up a permanent page where people can link to their photos and webpages made from their trips to Bonaire. Something along the lines of a simple page that contains the person's name and link to their webpage.

I am suggesting this because there are times I just want to browse photos from Bonaire. Often times, I would like to revisit photos/webpages that I visited 9-12 months ago but that proves difficult to find in the archives.

The other reason is that I am shamelessly promoting my webpage (since I spent hours on it). I had posted the photos here about 6 months ago but the online photo club that I used has since failed...After all that time on designing my page, I have to get someone else to look at it besides my family.

Nice idea. If other people are interested I can see what I can cobble together - I don't have direct programming access to the user list on BonaireTalk (it's a commercial software package), but I could set up something on the Bonaire WebCams sits.

If you are able to set this up, I would also recommend (besides name and link) including date of update.......this would seem good for someone such as yourself that gets to take photos throughout the year....and, of course, the occassional check for broken links since they would be inevitable.

As for my webpage, there are three Bonaire albums: "Our Wedding Album", "Sites of Bonaire", and "Underwater". The photos cover two trips (Belmar in 1999 and Eden Beach for wedding in 2002).

Jake, why don't you just set up a new main thread for links to people's web sites. And only allow an item to be posted if it has a web link, in order to keep comments about the contents of a link off that thread.

I think the problem with creating a thread is that if you put your webpage up now, in six months it will be on about page five on the thread or you would have to do a search....I sadly think my link would get neglected because nobody would search that far back.

Thanks for petting my inflated ego....actually the pictures are the best of all of the photographers that came along (probably 10 different photographers). However, Gizelle (my wife) and I will take credit for all of the underwater photos.....although we are scuba certified, we actually took all of the photos during snorkels.

It's also a lot of work for Linda & I to have to maintain/edit/rap the knuckles/etc. when someone posts more than just a link. We don't have nearly enough time for all the thing we already have to do.

Automating the process and letting people change their own links in the list is the most expedient way to do this, I think (once I write the code).

I don't mind making a links page on my website. Jake... you could just put a link here to "User's web pages" or something similar... I'll just have people email me their sites and I'll make a links page from submissions... don't know if that helps or not. Just trying to save you some time/trouble.

It's not that difficult to implement - and the benefit is that people would be able to maintain their own links this way.
