We are headed down next month on June 16th. We have not been there since February 2000. Can anyone tell me if the Divi has two dive docks operating? It used to be that way, but Lenny took out the dock where the old dive shop used to be. It was always great to grab a tank at one dock, and turn it in at the other dock, especially on a night dive.

Jim, I just returned from 11 days at the Divi. They have tanks on both docks but only 1 functioning dive shop. You will also notice that the Divi has improved itself dramamtically. I can't tell you how many guests were previous regulars that told me how much better the resort has changed for the better. The Divi org has certainly poured a fair amount of $ into the place. however, in my opinion, they still have a ways to go.

Have a great trip!

Thanks George for the reply. Does that mean you can get a tank from one pier and dive to the other? I used to love to do that. In February of 2000, the original dock was in shambles. I'm glad to see they have it finished.

Yes, but that way you can"dink around" down there in the shallows. I like that for night diving too, since I just like to go off the dock and stay within my"own backyard".

I used to go off one pier, go past the other pier, turn around and come up past the second pier. There's a lot of cool stuff along Calabas, and sometimes you get lucky and see all kinds of neat things. We even saw some sea horses once. The other beautiful part of that dive is the convenience factor. It's an easy in, easy out, no fuss no muss dive. Plus, the price is always right.

Calabas is absolutely fascinating and full of marine life. I love it there. One week to go....Carole
