This was our first trip to Bonaire and made for a truly memorable one, first we left our non-diving wives at home, so we could really concentrate on doing one thing DIVING. The American flight from JFK to SJU and then SJU to BON was great, on time and lots of divers to talk with. cruised through customs in Bonaire, and then the parade of pickup trucks started from the airport. We stayed at the Yacht Club Apartments, and let me just say this place is great they were waiting for us and had cold beer ready in the fridge. I definitly recommend this place for anyone looking for basic accommodations, they are a very clean and professionly run place, and the pool is steps from any of their rooms.

Sunday we started our diving through Bonaire Dive and Adventure next to Sand Dollar. They were great did our orientation and then just a giant stride onto Bari reef from the pier. This has got to be one of the best reefs on Bonaire, we did 5 dives there total 3 night and 2 day dives. During the orientation Letecia' asked us what we hoped to see and just simply told us were to go. It turns out she was 100% accurate turtles, rays, sea horses, and a shark. On our second dive we were treated to a free swimming green moray who stopped and posed for us. Our third dive of the day took us to Bachelors beach, were we amazed to see a reef shark at about 65 or 70 feet. Bachelors beach is a must dive in my book, a great reef that is just teaming with life. Our fourth and final of the day brought us to Ole Blue. We were limited on our depth but it was just a purely enjoyable dive. lots of schooling fish to enjoy. this makes for a great afternoon dive as the reef startes in only 20 feet or so, so you don't need to go deep to enjoy this reef.

For lunch we ate at the Den Laman restaurant just next to the Bari pier. and Dinner was at Zee-Zicht, both places were very good and reasonably priced, in fact everywere we ate I thought was reasonably priced. Well thats it for now stayed tuned for the next part

Glad you had a great trip and good to hear that American was on time and smoothe. I am flying American the 8th and was getting a little nervous with some of the miss connections.

The shark was at Bachelors beach and it was a small reef shark not real sure what kind we only got one shot and he didn't stay still like I asked him to. Many thanks to everyone thus far on the encouraging comments.

Wow, Christopher! I have only seen a nurse shark on the "wild side". I never knew they were on the south side too. Just thought they would just stay on the Atlantic or rough side of the island. Guess you can tell I am not a fan of sharks.
