My wife and I are leaving Cincinnati and meeting our friends from New Jersey at Montego Bay on the 17th. We are staying at Captain Don's. It's our 4th time. See ya there! How will we recognize you?

Yep, those quarries are tough. We also certified in a quarry and believe what they tell you. "If you can dive in a quarry you can dive anywhere".
You will LOVE Bonaire. Warm clear water and beautiful reefs and marine life.
Dave

You'll love it Janis!! I was certified in +36 degree water...the only life forms we encountered (besides this pod of idiotic newbie divers) was a small white sucker (fish)...and a couple of leeches...imagine 10 new divers huddled around a leech!!!....nearly froze my carumbas off...to this day, I can't dive in cold water...I have a very nearly new ScubaPro 7mm wetsuit for sale...cheap like borsch...:-)

I know what you mean Janis....I was certfied in +36 F water, and, even being from Canada, will never dive cold water again...once you jump in to Bonaire's waters for your orientation dive, there is no looking back....sorry to my polar friends

Congrats Janis! I was a newly certified diver in 2004 when I made my first trip to Bonaire. It was my second ocean experience and I loved the diving and the island. It really was as easy and beautiful as everyone had described. Enjoy your trip.

Congrats Janis,
You couldn't have picked a better place for your first blue water dives. You can do your first ocean dives at your own pace, the dives are generally easy, and you don't have to worry about some idiot kicking your mask off at 100 ft because you were on a cattle boat. Just remember when you see that first critter, breathe normally....
