My wife and I are arriving on Bonaire for the first time next week and have Pre-Bonaire Anticipation. Anyone else out there with it? Symptoms: uncontrollable urge to snorkel in the bathtub, impulse buying, hours reading BT, sleepless nights dreaming about Bonaire, packing and re-packing, etc. We are staying at the Divi Flamingo and plan to explore the island, snorkel, learn the culture, eat, beachcomb, birdwatch, bike, kayak, and fish. Relax? Never. Anyone else doing same? Hope to bump into you on Bonaire.

I always have it, but thanks to you I have a name for it!!! For about three weeks prior to a trip I do all the things you mentioned plus I start waking up earlier and earlier as the date approaches. When we have an early flight, I don't even go to bed... I just set an alarm in hopes of sleeping a little and stay on the recliners watching videos of Bonaire!! I always feel like a little kid waiting for Santa Clause to come!!! Have a blast!!! I have to wait till December.

Ah... yet another kindred spirit, we will be arriving on Saturday and plan to do all you do plus just sleep on the beach. I have been packed for weeks, bought ridiculous things I certainly don't need and check this @@**## website 3 times a day. My wife thinks I am over the edge as I now have files on restaurant recommendations, 52 things to do besides dive and tons of other useless information... I'm having a ball and I haven't even left yet !!! We are at the Plaza maybe we should share a meal somewhere ?? Here's to warm weather..

LOL....We have suffered similar symptoms for the past 8 years! Funny thing is our trip is now just 60 days out and I've got the gitters already :) Truth be known; It really starts once the plane lands back in the states on our return trip each and every year!

I hope you fall in love with Bonaire as much as all us repeat visitors! Have a safe, wonderful time on the island. Please let us know how things went; giving us your PBTR (Post Bonaire Trip Report) :)

Liz,

Are you diving out of the diveshop at the Divi?

We also will be in bonaire shortly Mar 16=23. Havent started packing yet, too busy with work, but do read bonaire talk constantly. I have nightmares that I dont pack till the night before and I am unprepared! ALM called today and said our flight returning home will leave 40 min earlier than originally scheduled! BUMMER!! Do also dream about the trip (our 2nd). This time we're bringing our 14 yr old daughter. Didnt get certified, so we will snorkel again this year, and our daughter wants to go to Lac Bay and learn to windsurf. Can't believe that SO many people are SO crazy about Bonaire!! Staying at the Plaza. Anyone else bringing a teenager at that time?? Preferably a GIRL!!!!!!!

HI, everybody arriving shortly!! I've been here for four weeks and have just extended for two more. Yes, I know I'm VERY lucky.

Don't forget the BT Tuesday night gettogether. I've just come from dinner with Diver Debbie and Adam and Chet and Jean Wood. Great food. Here's the deal:

Any Bonaire Talkers who want to meet others, come to Gibi's Terrace, by the corner of Kaya Industrial (the road the Lisa Gas Station is on, which ends at the Divi Flamingo Casino parking lot) and Nikkiboko Sud --- at 7 pm on Tuesday evenings. I'll be there next Tuesday. If you can't figure out how to get there, just ask someone, it's pretty easy to find. Good local food, and good talk. We even have special Buttons that Chet Wood made up. Chet's leaving on Saturday, so I'm now the button-keeper.

I'm also a solo (and pretty new) diver and would welcome anybody who might like to buddy with me. You can email me at: info@bonairetownhomes.com (mark for Josie), call me at 717-7398, or just come to Gibi's on Tuesday. I'm here until 3/21.

And it's WONDERFUL here!!!

Josie

PBA, I love it. My wife and I are leaving in 12 days and I sure have it. I am learning more about Bonaire than anywhere else I have been. Sure hope it can live up to the expectations, this being our first trip.
Whats up with renting BCs and regs, we don't have our own and are staying at Lions, hows the equipment?
We have been out buying stuff to and my packing list is getting way out of hand.
My work attitude is really sucking, all I think about is going to Bonaire, which is what I am doing right now instead of guess what, better go.

See you all soon. Brad and Mary Jane

I like the sound of that PBA...of course, I think that the real symptom is when you come back from a trip, and immediately schedule another. We'll be going back in August, having returned in January from 2 weeks at the Divi.
Hope you all have a great time!!

Great to put a name to this PBA feeling - we are leaving in 15 days! After we have put our daughter (21 mths old, staying with grandparents while we are away) to bed, I dash upstairs and turn on the computer. Jack, I know what you mean about the files on restuarant etc. My desk is covered in Bonaire Info stuff and Brad I know that problem with work, let's hope our bosses never put 1 & 1 together and come up with Bonaire!
Josie thanks for the tip about Tuesdays, I wondered if there was anything like that.
Be there soon!!

I love it - I have huge PBA! My husband and I are leaving 3/7 at 9 am from Minnesota for our first Bonaire trip. Staying at the Plaza for two weeks. It takes me more than two weeks to relax.

See you down there!

When you see Serge(Dive manager at the Divi) please tell him that you were paid by me to give him a hard time. :-) He should be back from vacation I think next week.

Thanks....have a wonderful trip and give us a report when you get back!
