My boyfriend and I vacationed in Bonaire from Dec 15-22. This was our 1st trip to the island. We rented the home of my brother's friend for the week. My boyfriend John dives, while I snorkel. We had a great time and hope to return! We found the restaurants offered good, reasonably priced meals and we enjoyed shopping at Cultimara for lunch food and snack. The diving and snorkeling was the best we've ever experienced although our past experience has mainly been St.John in the USVI. We very much enjoyed our snorkel trip on the Woodwind with Dee to Klein Bonaire. Dee is a wonderful woman who was able to point out many sea creatures during our drift. Our night snorkel with her was amazing! John dove with the team from Captain Don's habitat on 4 boat trips and I went along as a snorkel tag along. We also snorkeled at Sorobon, Pink Beach and Andrea 1 as well as from the dock of the rented house. We learned so much from other divers like Sue and Brian (love your fish pix) about dives they have taken all over the world. Bonaire is now a warm, golden memory on this cold, wintery, snowy day but I know we'll return soon - I may even have my dive license by then. Meanwhile I'll just dream about gliding through the water surrounded by the most beautiful creatures in the world. Thanks to all of you on Boanire talk for helping us plan our trip to this friendly island. Also went to slide shows at the Habitat presented by Dee Starr and others. Superb Sue

So glad to see you are hooked on Bonaire like the rest of us, Sue! It certainly sounds like you had a terrific time on your trip. You will now be feeling the dreaded PBD....Post Bonaire Depression! The only cure is to book your next trip to Bonaire.

It sounds like your friend's home was in a perfect spot for you to access the water and snorkel and dive. How nice of them to let you use the house.

Do you have any photos you would like to share and post here on BT for us to drool over?? Ayo. CArole

Hi Carole - I am definetly suffering from PBD - John tells me I should be happy I had such a good time. We will make reservations for a return trip - hopefully the house rental will still be available. John will post a few pictures soon; however they pale in comparison to the many pictures I've seen on this site. Happy New Year! sue
