Hello to all, have been eavesdropping and vicariously enjoying your discussions for the last couple years and have decided to join in on occasion. Guess this is a test to see if I finally got registered (thanks to Jake) properly. Do have a couple questions. Have wondered what the circumstances were behind the closing of Harbor Village and now the apparent demise of the Sand Dollar. Are they victims of a slow economy or? Also wondering if the ladder at Oil Slick Leap has or will be replaced soon. It would be a shame if this site were lost to shore diving.

The Sand Dollar resort itself is still operating just fine, it's just the similarly named dive shop which is not.

So what is the story with Sand Dollar Dive? Are they just liquidating some assets to pay for back taxes or are they going out of business? What about Discover Bonaire with the mangrove kayak trips and Sipke Stapert with his guided mountain bike trips?? Does anyone know? Thanks.

Regarding Sand Dollar Dive & Photo (and Sand Dollar Condos also): things happen in businesses and many times the new Phoenix rises in a very similar form with even brighter plumage. Please, fans of Sand Dollar, don't lose faith now.
