First and formost thank you all for the info and advice so many of you passed on to me. I honestly felt like I had been to Bonaire before, especially each time I came across a name someone had mentioned or recommended. Our air travel was uneventful, everything on schedule and everything on time. They did inspect my sneakers in Bon (I passed ). Flew AA --- Newk-SJ --- SJ-Bon (AE) and returned the same way. I was staying at a private residence owned by family members and I do not dive so some of my requests were a little out of the norm. I found the beach access I wanted at the Plaza Resort they allowed me to use their lounge chairs, pool, towels etc. for a fee of $5.25 US per day or $25.50 per week. I felt this was a real bargain and had ample time to relax these old bones and soak up the rays. I was able to tour both ends of the island, took lots of pictures and a less then happy experience touring the National Park. The day we picked to tour the Nat. Pk. the weather refused to co-operate and we were faced with rain on and off the whole day. The roads in the NP are not paved and present somewhat of a challenge in nice weather --soooo- in wet weather they turn slippery and rain filled and white knuckle driving becomes the norm (Maybe I'm just getting old - some people would welcome the challenge) in any event we wound up sliding into a rock and tree formation and blew a tire and put the allignment out of wack. Changed the flat managed to get the truck back to AB Rental but later was charged $350 US for repairs. NOTE -- NOTE - Your rental contract specifically mentions driving in the Nat. PK. and any damage caused there is absolutly your concern - I mention this only so that if you intend to tour make sure the weather is right. The house I was staying in belong to family member Joe Clark a long time Bonaire visitor who unfortunatly passed before he got a chance to retire and live his golden years as a Bonaire resident. There were a lot of hellos I had to make on behalf of Joe and I did so starting with Marcel from the Rondevous - great restaurant the food was superb - Richard from Richards a great host - that view is outstanding the food also (had the Dorado) - Al from the Black Durgon (a true friend) had breakfast on his veranda. Gary from the Sand Dollar - great breakfast also. The rest of our food experience covered Capt. Don's (better than average -lunch and breakfast), the Rum Runner and three nites of BBQ on either side of Zeezic and once from I belive its called Coco's a small house restaurant open only Fri thru Sun. The two casinos offered some nite-fun and I enjoyed the $2 Blackjack table at The Plaza (It's amazing how long you can play on $40 with just a little luck). I messed up with the street cam, I forgot about the two-minute delay and I made my signs way to small. I mentioned all you BT-cammers Rusty, Ann P., Merle, Freddie etc etc. so next time I'll improve my performance and hopefully I can make you Cam-stars for a day at least in name!!!I think I've covered most highlights hope you enjoy the report there is one thing more --- I'm also in love with sister island Aruba so I now suffer PABD a malady cured only taking 'GBASAP' -- Can you imagine if I visit Curacao and then get PABCD now that would require some extensive treatment. Any suggestions on a cure???? Again my thanks to all until the next time Bon Bini Tony S.

Freddie, the first time was Wed the 16th, we were just trying to find the web-cam. John Lidington posted my picture at the gate at 10;55 I'm the one with the grey shirt. We were happy to find out the private home we were at is just two blocks from Jakes house. Rusty re-printed the photo at 2:09 PM ( I love being in demand). The second time was Sat 19th at 8:56 am Holly printed that picture, this was the time reserved for all you BT's but if you revisit that day you'll see the sign was two small and I didn't allow enough cam time. I'm not done I came back at 11:00 bon time because I told my three grandaughters that "POP-POP" would appear on their computers. I kept my promise but again the sign to small etc. However Freddie you got me at 11:00 AM Bon time and I now have a permanent reminder of my moment of Web-cam fame. I thank you. Tony S. Got Aruba planned for Aug-Sept and Bon for Dec-Jan thats my tentative plans for GBASAP. See ya!!!

Absolutly, however the six year old was waiting for me to do a crazy dance. I promised her I would and had a senior moment and forgot. With making the signs, checking the time etc. etc. it's easy to forget. At least I tried to get out of why I didn't perform but she held me accoutable when I got home with "Pop-Pop you promised" oh how I love those kids. Told her next time I'll try and stand on my head. Tony S.

Anthony,

If you're still looking for some of the WebCam images, membership is now open on the Bonaire WebCams site - you can search the archives for a nominal membership fee. (And, send a BWC ePostCard of yourself to friends :-) )

Jake
