The parrot is our family member, Spirit Shoo Shoo. She is actually a brown-throated Caribbean parakeet, locally called a prikichi. She is very active and likes to be with people all the time.

Another pic of Seb and Mary's seahorse off their back porch at Punt Verkant. Seb had found 4 in close proximity to each other over the course of a several dives. I have pics of all 4 and will post them today maybe? This was the first seahorse any of us Eva, Wally, and Barbara (Joey seen 1 before)had seen. It was the highlight of Eva's trip....she was wanting to spot one this trip since we couldn't find the orange one at Eden last Christmas. Thanks for a great dive guys.

Wanna hear a hoot. I sent fuel injectors down to the pink bus with Katie. The old ones had to be returned for the core charge ($80). Injectors sorta look like bomb detonators and old ones smell like diesel fuel. My suitcase arrived festooned with so many security check tags it looked like a tibetan prayer flag string had been wrapped around it.

Mary,

Do you know that there is a seahorse at Lac Bay or are you just saying that because it is so shallow?

Inquiring minds (and other snorkelers) want to know!

Thanks in advance!

Belinda, when you are in the water, you can sometimes hear the sea horses laughing at you because you can't see them.
I have had several folks tell me that they have seen sea horses while snorkeling at Lac Bay.

I'll just keep an ear tuned for the tee hee hees and start looking when I hear them :-)

Thanks again for the info!

Great pics Wally! I'm so dissapointed with our pics because of the "strobe mishap", that I've spent lots of time searching for a housing for my digital, so has Larry.

Was fun to dive with you guys at Andrea II. Tell me that's not the shot of the eagle ray we saw went we went down that you posted. My shot of that moment (no strobe), he's just a blue blob and that's just not fair. lol

Wally, hope you're better soon. Now tell me, just what kind of camera do you have? I want a camera I can depend on, as I am seriously shopping, and I'm so upset w/my MX10 and the strobe saga, hate to even post it as it's negative. :-) Best to create a web page and post the movies, I think. On my XP I have a movie editor I use for work stuff, to load movies to the work website from FrontPage and it's easy.

Will check later to see what other fab pics you've posted, while I mull and stew over our pic situation, again. :-)

Well....I'm done until Christmas....

We will be back for trip number 4 at our usual Eden Beach, WannaDive and Bongos (car from Ilka at Everts) from 25 Dec to 4 Jan. (after a short detour through China in November :-) )

Doing the AA from MIA to CUR and taking DIVI across....too quick and easy and the cheapest way for us. Divi Air was great this trip. I love getting in a plane, slamming the door myself, patting the pilot on the back and GOING FLYING.... AA only screwed up on the way home, but hey that's the place to do it...not on the way there.

As usual Bob and Bart of WannaDive (tip of the hat to Paul, Rodger and Karin)took great care of us. Bob came to the rescue when I (the equipment terminator) blew my first stage to smithereens. Moved all my crap (1st, octo, etc) to his gear in record time....everybody was at the dive site waiting...jeez. What an all round excellent crew.

Menno does an excellent job with his boat dives to Klein Bonaire from WannaDive. It was Barbara's first boat dive and I think he made her feel very comfortable. He is a damn good fish spotter too. What his beautiful wife Esther (who works at Rains Fishes Restuarant) sees in him baffles me. wink

For the best burger and fries go to Bongos for Henk's Bongo Burger special. Friday nights at Bongos is a must with a great cook-out watching the sunset and a nice party afterwards.

We went to dinner with Paul(WannaDive) and Margreet(Bongos) to the Swiss Chalet restaurant. Great food. Suzy, who runs the place WILL make you eat your vegatables though...I had a lot of fun. I think those two kids might be sweet on each other though (act like you don't notice).

We ate at the Garden Cafe several times. Great pizzas...we got the veggie garden pizza. The guy running the place is Venazula's top Santa Claus model. Great guy. North from town, on left, big neon sign on top says PIZZA AND GRILL.

Eggs Benedict for breakfast at Lost Penguin...nice treat. Nice people too.

We bought most of our Christmas gifts for this year at Marlis Sail & Canvas shop. Lots of cool stuff....I bought my current favorite shirt there. It has earth tone parrot molas on the breast panels. Her place is on the road north from town on the right (across the street from the highrise being built). Really cool store and really cool lady.

We rented our phone from Michael's Chat N Browse. Rented the phone for 2 weeks with whatever minutes I didn't ask for $75. Never ran out of minutes and that was with 4 calls to the states talking (and talking) to Dad at the factory. Barbara on the other hand didn't realize that the in room phone is basically a BLUE PHONE that was whacking her a $1 a minute. So she ran around for 2 weeks with no cell phone and when she left her phone bill was like $100.
Remember "SAY NO TO BLUE PHONES"

Post from the other half: We left out something...the highlight of this trip for me was our son Joey being able to join us. We were certified together but this was our first recreational diving together. Wally and Barbara...pics please??...of Joey. :-) (I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post pics myself...besides Wally is so good at it I'll leave it up to him. :-) )
