This cartoon was in today's comic section of the local newspaper. I thought it appropriate given the serious nature of some of the more recent threads.

Starting Friday it's a holiday long weekend in British Columbia for most of us. Enjoy your day at whatever beach you choose to sit on.

I think it's time for us ALL to get back to smiling more on BT!!

I am because we "only" have 52 days until our first visit to Bonaire! We expect to have a wonderful time on a great island and thanks to Bonaire Talk we will have our eyes wide open. What's the old saying about being fore warned?

Hey Craig. I just took a look at your profile. What is the camera you're carrying in your photo?

I just got an Olympus with a housing that looks a lot like yours. Can't wait to try it out (I'm new to digital).

Richard, it's an Oly 5050 in a PT015 housing. Love the camera, but not too impressed with sub-sea results without an external strobe. I sold off an Ikelite housing and ds-125 strobe....a really big mistake.

Good luck with learning u/w digital photography...learning curve is steep, but fortunately there's no cost for taking 100's of pictures in the process of learning.

Ciao,
Craig

Hey Craig,
We will be in Vancouver and Victoria in 2 weeks.
Maybe we can get together and talk about how great Bonaire is for diving!

Yanagirl,

Want to plan for a cold water dive ??!!

Bonaire is nice, but "warm water sucks...cold water rocks!!"

Many opportunities for an easy shore dive here.

email when your plans get confirmed Craig<at>ScubaVictoria<dot>com

Ciao,
Craig

Hi Everybody -- a surprise hello from Mary W.
A quick report:
Oil Slick Leap:
Frog fish, black and white crinoid at 80 feet with little shrimp, a school of Boga being herded by horse eyed jacks and bar jacks, and a harlequin pipe fish.

And that was this afternoon's dive folks.

This morning's dive -- we found all three sea horses.

Bye for now.

Craig,
Will email you soon about the dive. I am a warm water diver......but maybe I could COLD (I cringe just thinking about it!) water dive one more time.

Mary,

Oil Slick story was great. You heard about the large hammerhead at Forrest yesterday? Also we saw one of the blacktips at Andrea I to II this week and one in the blue water offshore south of Vista Blue.

How are the bugs? I got stuff for you before you are NYC bound. I leave Monday a.m....yuk.

Bud
