Last week my daughter and I went diving at Hilma Hooker.
Pretty much fire coral. Although getting into the water was not as difficult as it looks.
Suddenly that big dark boat underwater. Impressive. It made my hard beat a little faster.
Big Tarpoons. 4 to 5 feet barracuda.
Big groups of small silver fish swam from left to right as if they were told to do so.
Max depth was about 28m
The Hilma Hooker was a great experience. The rest of the dive was not all to special. The water was a bit blurry. Saw some frech- and queen angels and a huge crab.

No, I have a 29 yr old daughter. Started diving with her in shallow waters on Curacao when she was 6. She has her Padi advanced. My 26 yr old son has his rescue.
Our 11 and 12 yr old daughters had their introductionary course this year. I took our 7 yr old son this yr for the fist time underwater. He used my octopus and we did not go deeper then 2 m.
He thought it was the most beatiful experience of the holliday. He had the luck that we "met" 2 big lobsters. He saw squid, seacumcumbers, fireworm, lots of mullet, damselfish, grunt, goby and blenny, some big barracuda's, a peacock flounder, a trumpetfish and a porcupine, a chestnut moray, a goldspotted eel etc.
Our youngest daughter of 4 does snorkling. We even took her on a snorkling trip with Renee.
With her 4 years she saw a giant supermale parrotfish of 4-5 feet! Was for me also the first time in my life a saw a parrotfish of this size. And I got certified in 1978 :-))

What a great family you have! Everyone enjoys the water and each other. Just wonderful! I know you are all looking forward to returning to Bonaire someday soon.

Your youngest is almost the same size as the iguana in the picture....I can imagine the parrot fish was even bigger than she was! LOL.

Thanks again for sharing your pics and your story. Carole

If one shore dives the hooker, there is some great stuff to see on the slope on the return dive. Seb spotted a pair of nudibranchs on our way back from a wonderful dive at the hooker.
