Made the trip with 4 other guys from our local dive club. I got there via 3 segments using frequent flyer miles - boy the direct flight one of the gus took would have REALLY been worth it. I cannot explain the effect coming to the island had on me. At first, I felt I would not bother returning as the petty theft was such an inconvience (can't leave ANYTHING in the car) But I must say, almost every day I find myself longing to go back. The wind, the incredibly blue water and the EAZZZZZZY diving are unforgetable. Anyway, I took along a digital and snapped over 1300 pics. I culled what I could (down to 200!) and posted them out on a photo hosting site for all to enjoy. I hope you all have as much fun as I did.

BTW we stayed at through Yellow Submarine. It was perfect. The cottages were clean and had everything we needed. The site mgrs were helpful and were willing to work with us on all of our needs. I especially want to encourage you to look into doing the 1/2 day naturalist course with Jerry Ligon at Bonaire Dive and Adventure. I think all four of us would agree that it really doubled our enjoyment on our dives.

A few other misc comments....

1. Don't lock your car and don't leave anything - we all got something stolen and one of the cars beside us had 2 windows busted to extract all of their extra dive gear.

2. The drift dive from La Dania's Leap/Karpata was incredible! Very easy. (I have 100 dives)

3. Reefcam can be reached from parking at the crook in the road and walking down to the beach. The swim is long, but take your time and you will get there. The way back follow the 30' reef.

4. Food take FOREVER to get. We wasted alot of time waiting on food and deciding where to dive. All the sites were great - start at one end and dive up the list.

5. The cell phones at the shop in the mall is EASY to use. Stop in, grab one, make a call, go back and pay for the minutes you used! Around .30 a min. I think I spent $10 the whole trip. Great thing to do while waiting for food to come.

Dive Safe!
