My dive buddy Sue and I just finished our first trip to Bonaire. Left Chicago early Sat. a.m. Thank God for the park and fly! Upgraded to first class up to Montego Bay. Ah, the good life! Thanks for that recommendation! Brief layover in Montego Bay and we’re finally here! Staying at the Divi, grab the swimsuits and head for some beach time! Order too much food at Casablanca (yummy!) and head home for an early night. Sunday a.m. we completed the check out dive with Divi Dive. Great people that were so helpful all week long! (More on this later.) Headed to Klein Bonaire on an afternoon boat dive. Yikes! Someone stop this dive and let me off! I’m sucking air and trying not to throw up in the regulator! What’s up with this? After wheezing through the boat trip back to Divi, get cleaned up and meet Sue for Happy Hour at Chibi Chibi’s. We were blessed to start a conversation with the live music on Sunday nights, Frenk and Sep. Frenk found out we were “virgins” to Bonaire. He called his wife and next thing we know we went to a local house for an Aruba Days party with Frenk, his wife Leti, and son Shannon. What a great time! I love to dance and tried my best to keep up with these local steps!
