The islands are actually cut out of 3/4" plywood and mounted on 1/4 " ply backing. Then I put it in a 2 1/2" deep shadow box.

Tod, that is great!! It would make a neat coffee table with a piece of glass over it but before I put the glass over it I would mark the divesites that I have been to...Great PBD project!!!

Yes, you are definitely afflicted with PBD. The only cure is a return trip to the island as soon as possible. PBD is not likely to be fatal; however, it sure can make life miserable.

We were there last September and are planning a return trip in July. Until then, we suffer with PBD, too.

Marvin

I have already made a coffee table, I made it 3" deep and put a layer of white sand in the bottom and filled it with sea shells and a sun carving like the one that was in our bungalow at sorobon, then placed a 1/4" beveled glass over it. In a few weeks we are even going to have a few hermit crabs running around inside of it too....

Now THAT sounds outrageous, Tod! What a great artistic talent and wonderful imagination you have. You'll have to photograph the whole gammut (sp?)once it is together and you are holding hermit crab races. Maybe we BT'ers can even stake some bets and wagers on the crab races!!?? Too much! Ayo. Carole

Carole, now that's an idea, I'll get in on some of the off track wagering here, and take the wind out of the sails of some of these horse farms around here !!!!!!!!!!!live telecast and all contract with espn.....

Excellent job, Tod!! Be careful you might start getting requests to build more for all of us who suffer PBD! :-)
Mary Lou
P.S. I'm in on the crab races, too!

The perfect antidote for P.B.D. is to start planning your next trip to Bonaire as soon as you reach home from your last one. Nineteen months and counting down but this time we'll go for four weeks.

Okay, as a newbie and I think I figured out what PBD means, are any of you divers, and if so why don't we plan a get together in the next few months where all of us serious "divers" do something together; just an idea!
Cheers from the Left Coast
