FLIGHTS: Flew AA - 3 flights instead of the 4 scheduled on the way there. We arrived fine. Our luggage had a vacation of it's own. (It arrived 3 days later.) On the way home, only 1 day later.

ATTIRE: Casual - VERY Casual! I was left with a white shirt & "Winney the Pooh" boxer shorts! Nice thing is, no one even noticed!

ACCOMODATIONS; Plaza, Grand Suite, Lagoon View, Large Room & Clean. Nice grounds, & beach.

DIVE/SNORKEL: Both my husband & I finished our OW Certification with Annabelle (1st 2 dives), and Ramone (last 2 dives). Annabelle was so sweet & patient. She did the majority of the skills & then spent the rest of the time showing us around (18th Palm). Ramone was kind & handsome! I thought of offering him a job as my "pool man". He would soon figure out, "It's COLD in CANADA!" Sites - 18th Palm, 1000 steps, Weber's Joy, The Lakes, Invisibles etc.

DINING; Plaza's 3 Restaurants. Tipsy Seagull - Romantic, great view, good food. Banana Tree - 3X or more. 1st meal, o.k. Next few, just got better. Can't remember 3rd name. Breakfast there is good, but pricey for breakfast. To Dale's dissappointment, I gave the donkeys the "pop tarts!" Others included, Richard's - reminded me of a restaurant in the Cayman's. Very nice. Old Inn, Zeetight's, Chibi, Chibi etc. I didn't cook at all. Never do, on vacation! I mainly ate seafood, and Dale ate steaks, beef, filets, etc., and some of my seafood. Oh, Zeetight's had great lobster!
BEST DINING & COMPANY: Kay & Deb's Pooside Thanksgiving for BT'S. Kay's Turducken (so good!), and Deb's pumpkin pie! (Almost as good as my mom's!) Although, I'm still trying to figure out how she cooked that turducken "under water!" Meeting Kay, Rae, Deb, Glenn, Ellen, Mannanita, & everyone else's name that escapes me right now.
DINING FOR DONKEYS & DOGS: The donkeys prefer "cherry" pop-tarts. The dogs don't care for local potato chips. They prefer the island cookies. Next time I'll bring "doggie treats", for Dale, as well as the dogs. I think he gets jealous!

FERRY: Next time, we fly. Enough said. Curocao for the day. Deb & Glenn, Thank you so much for being great tour guides. Doc Glenn, patched up my ankle. (rough exit) It's still healing, Glenn. Any advice? Deb & Dale shared ear drops. Dale's ears have finally cleared!

KAY SITINGS: Everywhere, day & night. I think she has GILLS!!

SOUVENIRS: I phoned home & asked my children what they would like. My daughter said "a trampoline, & a dog". My son - "a lizard".

REGRETS: Don't know if Dale & I made it on the Web Cam, with our Canadian Flag Sign. Not sending for my children, & my puppy, and staying on Bonaire! I'll be back! Linda

Linda,,,sounds like you guys had a wonderful time...Wish we would have made Deb and Glenn's but Steve is very "antsy" on Vacation and wants to dive and dive..he barely talks to me...He has a very busy practice and likes to just "reflect" on vacation...He is social..but does not like to plan once on Bonaire...if we would have just run into each other he would be fine..but to plan on vacation!!!! ??? I lost my luggage...(just my clothes) the whole trip..my bags came back with me..but never made it from Montego Bay..I was in a turtle tee and I luckily had 2 outfits packed in carry on...underware shopping in Bonaire is not alot of fun....We bring food for the animals...dog/cat/bird seed..and buy carrots for the donkeys...I don't know what I would do if I didn't have an animal to feed! Very glad you had a good time....Hope we can run into you one day!

Great report Linda! I cringed at the shopping for undies part! You probably had to go to that shop at the north west end of the main street...eeewww. Almost better to go without :> The rules are: if you don't get captured on the cams, you must go back immediately! Had a great time with the two of you! Congrats on your OW Cert
ooooo:> Deb.

Meryl & Deb, Yes, I had to do the "underwear" shopping thing. It was not a pretty sight! I'm not sure if we can bring bird seed from Canada, but I'll check for next time. We had gone to the Market, and walked around & around, and had hardly anything in our basket. I completely forgot about the carrots, while I was there. That's why the pop tarts. I picked them up at a little store. They worked in a pinch. Meryl, maybe someday we can "accidently", on purpose, run into each other on Bonaire. Deb, congrats to you as well! Linda

Congratulations to you and your hubby, Linda! So glad to see another pair of Bonaire addicts being hatched, too. I'll bet you are already planning your return trip, right? Carole

Great report Linda. All it takes is one trip to Bonaire and you're hooked. I just received a fare watcher alert and trying to figure out how I can get there again after I go back in February. Will try to make it again between May and July.

Just think...you had less clothes to wash when you got home without all the undies to worry about! Got to make the best of the situation.

Enjoy the holidays!

From what I understand it's tough to concentrate on the diving skills with Ramon. Sounds like he would be the perfect person to perform some rescue skills. :-)

Yes, rescue skills. Good idea. Ramon has lived in 12 countries, in 10 years. We did some chatting while Dale was off losing his way with the compass. He thinks he's going to stay in Bonaire. (That is unless I can entice him with a job offer here!) My children need to be certified!! We gave him a nice tip. Jane, are you planning to go back? Kay, You're lucky to be going back in February! Carole, I'm trying for March, but hubby wants to venture other places, as well. March, we will bring our children. Although, I would love for him to surprise me with a scuba weekend for my birthday in January! I don't think I can wait until March! P.S. All this talk about Ramon, and I forgot my password. I punched it in wrong, and had to go searching for the correct one! Linda
