Flight: We flew Air Jamaica via Houston to Montego Bay to Bonaire. The flight was smooth from check-in up to arrival on Bonaire. Very pleasant flight. The return trip was almost as good as the arrival, but the PBD came on quite quickly. All in all a great flight.

Dining: Rae and I managed to make time for a meal at the Chibi Chibi and as usual was excellent. Great coconut shrimp. Usually ate something quick in the room and off to diving.

Lodging: Stayed at the Divi Flamingo which is the only place we have stayed for each trip we have made to Bonaire. We really like the setting at the Divi. Look forward to the casino on the next trip. We attended the slide show for the first time that Lutty from the dive shop puts on and it was absolutely wonderful. What breathtaking photos he has taken!

Flamingo Nest Bar: Located at the Divi. We did manage to make it there a couple of times. Went to the crab races and I think I was setup with the biggest and deadest crab in the race. I don’t think it moved a quarter of an inch the whole time we were there. Rae’s crab did manage to win first place on one of the races.

Thanksgiving: Poolside at the Divi. Thanks to all who attended. Had a great time. Thanks again Deb and Glenn for your time and efforts. I’ll gladly give back the extra pounds that I put on from those great pies I was forced to eat. :-)

Diving: We used Dive Bonaire located at the Divi. Did the the 3 tank daily boat dive package and I’m still trying to figure out how we could get them to do a 6 tank daily package. I can’t say enough about the whole staff there. What an awesome crew!
Dive sites were Calabas Reef, Mi Dushi, Rockpile, Bonaventure, Andrea II, Margate Bay, Sampler, Pink Beach, Small Wall, La Dania’s Leap, Oil Slick Leap, Joanne’s Sunchi, North Belnem, Hands Off, and Town Pier. This trip was the first time to dive the town pier and it was unbelievable. What a great dive!

And last but not least……the wonderful people whom we had the opportunity of meeting………..Glenn and Deb, Dale and Linda, Ellen, Mananita. Happy holidays to all of you!

Rae and Kay

COOL! Looks like me after too much sun & wogga wogga. Gotta go make pizza now for MNF (if Glenn wins control of the remote) or Antiques Roadshow (if I prevail!). Looking forward to more great u/w pix from the maniac....

Kay, absolutely breathtaking photos! What equipment were you using for these? Thanks ever so much for posting them for us. We'd love to see more if you have the time to post them. I agree about Divi, we love it there, too. Can't wait to get back there for two weeks in May. Thanks again for the report and the pics. Carole (Shutterbug)

Hmmm, I think I need to obtain a Sony DSC-P1 set up. I believe that is what Ellen uses, too. What a wonderful photo it produces....hmmm. My husband will kill me if I do it, but I think I need to treat myself again very soon....CArole

Absolutely beautiful pictures - I have been thinking of a digital camera also but alas - unless I win a lottery I guess it's not in the works!

Where was the photo with the anchor taken? After all our trips to Bonaire I don't know how we missed it.

Kay, did you use an external flash? a red filter? or just the camera??? I am researching what to buy. I am almost sold on the Sony DSC-P5

It looks like the anchor in front of the Divi, but I could be wrong.

Kay, thanks for the pics. Really enjoyed them. What housing are you using? You certainly have a talent. Just wonderful.. do you have a website where you posted the rest???? Thanks again.

Alan and Darlene...the anchor photo was taken in front of the Divi.

Denise...I do have an external flash and a filter. For some photos they were used.

2Nancys...I was using the Sony DSC-P1 with the sony marine pack. I still havn't had the time to reduce the file size on some of the other photos. Will post a few more another time.

I thought I'd mention to those interested in the Sony DSC P1 and marine pack housing: the housing can now be purchased for 189.00 from eCost.com - in my experience they're quite reputable (that's where I bought the housing and I believe some of the memory sticks when I bought this camera for Geoffrey's birthday) The camera has come down quite a bit, too. There are links off of CNet.com where you can do some price comparison shopping.

Kay, thanks and hope you get a chance to post more pics soon. I love looking at them.

Susan, thanks for the links. I'm most impressed by this camera. Your pics were great too!
