WOW -- it's great to be back. Our little bungalow at Bonaire Town Homes feels like home, and last night we saw the New Year in with Benny, Ester and their family. The fireworks were extraordinary. I stood up high on the end of the fence wall and had an almost 360 degree view --- stupendous.

Here's the first shot at the street cam (by the way, that's not Alan, couldn't get him to move from the hammock -- it's Scott who's from Portland, Oregon and is staying in the other unit here) We'd just finished my first dive for the trip --- signed up to go out with an instructor at Bon Bini just to get in the swim of things again. I only dive on Bonaire -- no interest in Lake Ontario, for some reason!

Had a GREAT time yesterday at the Richter's BBQ --- great food, was I STUFFED!!! Didn't dive Small Wall, I'd messed up my neck sleeping awkwardly and had a nasty headache -- some other time.

I'm dragging Alan out of the hammock this afternoon to go snorkel the customs pier (one of my faves), then to a night dive with Benny and Scott, and maybe Ellen Muller. Just starting to get myself wet. I get SO lazy on Bonaire.

Found out the Lost Penguin is just as good as it was last year --- the eggs benedict were perfect for lunch today. After yesterday's pig-out, I think I'd better just eat fruit the rest of today!!

Darlene, I'll think of you when I get into the water this afternoon -- so sorry we'll miss each other this year.

I finally met Sarah from the UK yesterday, and we keep bumping into Susan and Mark Taft -- it's SUCH fun connecting with other BTers.

More later. Time for my nap in the hammock.

Debbi, I woke up at 8 am this morning, said to myself "it'd be great to go for a walk now -- perfect temperature, etc" --- then I went back to bed!!!

However, we did walk down to the Lost Penguin for breakfast, then around town a bit before we walked back, so we got some exercise!

We're sorry to miss you guys too --- however, Benny will take good care of you.

Josie

Thanks, Josie, for keeping us up-to-date on your adventures. I loved reading your daily logs last year. Somehow it keeps me looking forward to our trips. My daughter says it's 85 more days for us. I'll start the countdown when we get a little closer!

Josie, :-) I like reading about your trip in real time too! Will you tell Benny Hi from Niki? :-) He can tell you about our night dive at Ellen's last June when we watched an octopus for 20 minutes and then started our actual dive. The others thought we were lost! Remind him to wear his hood to keep warm!

Have a fabulous vacation, Josie, as we know you will...

Josie,
Great report as usual. Our countdown has begun. I hope we will get to meet you and Alan. We fly in on AJ on the 10th. Do you need anything? See the new topic I started under "everything else"
