Today is the first day back home, it got down to 48 degrees last night and it 66 now. We are ready to pack up and move to Bonaire. For 9 months I have been getting ready for this trip and reading all the posts and I thought I new what to expect, but Bonaire by far exceeded all of my expectations. I don't think there are words to truely describe how wonderful it was there. I will post a trip report and pictures when I get them developed.

That's so great to hear, Tod! You will now start to feel the pangs of PBD....Post Bonaire Depression. The only cure is to start planning your return trip immediately! Can't wait to hear your report. Next trip will be a minimum of two weeks, right? Carole

We started to feel PBD on the 27th already before we even left. Getting on that plane was the hardest thing to do. As far as the next trip, Sorobon is having a photo contest with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prizes being a 3,2,& 1 week stay respectively. I took 276 pictures last week, one of them has to be good enough to submit I hope. To make things worse I just came from the store and it was cold, windy, and raining, Kentucky is a far cry from Bonaire.

Good luck with the photo contest, Tod! PBD hits fast and hard. I have been known to shed a few tears on the return/home flight...I try not to let anyone notice, but I know they are there. Are you anywhere near La Grange? Some friends of ours moved from North San Diego County to La Grange two years ago. They are enjoying Kentucky life, too. Carole

Carole,
La Grange is about an hour away from here, we have some people from there that go to our church in Shelbyville (1/2 hour away). You are definately right about PBD, I was really surprised that it hit me like it did, I spent 23 years in the military and have been 3/4 of the way around the world. Never have I felt bad about leaving any place that I have visited like I did about leaving Bonaire.

It is truly a small world, isn't it! Start making your return trip plans, now, Tod...it helps ease the "pain" and PBD! Carole

Tod, the ONLY cure for PBD is to book your next trip right away.
