I read somewhere that 1000 gallons costs about Nafl. 75,-. I was also told one pays Nafl 15 for the first four cubes and more than that for more than that.

All the water from the tap is distilled sea water - so very clean. We all drink tap water. Although in recent years I've seen an increase of bottled water in the stores for the tourists. Many visitors only want to drink bottled water because they are use to traveling to other destinations where it is a necessity like Mexico.

Linda meant 15 cubic meters. One cubic meter is 1000 liters of water (one ton of water). Also, water is used by kids playing with the hose :-)

Thank you all very much. Now I can get the conversion factor for nafl to $US and estimate a monthly cost, but what in the world is a "vastrecht?"
