Anyone know where all the Bonaire bats have gone? We usually have them flying through early evening and we haven't seen any this year.

I'm right in town (just north of Bobbejan's), and I see them every night around our house. Not as much as before they built up the property just behind us (to the west) though...

i live in Lima and there are many many .. but there is little construction right now so no loss of habitat .. but that is just around the corner .. there are now impact studies underway .. with legislation to follow .. but probably to little too late .....a part of the disrespect for bonaire's nature....

that mr. Anthony, knows every detail as I saw abouth the donkey with car accidants and now with the bats, he realy knows what is going on as you ask me, because of heavy airport constructions during several nights a week ( while the bats are flying during these hours ) , all the nois and lights like daylight , disturb them , so they are gone, and also , some caves where they use ti live, are in that critical area , so that is why you don't see as much as there should fly, unfortunatly! And indeed Michael is rite, they are the control of the muscitopopulation on Bonaire. An other animal in danger.
