Please can someone give me an idea when shops and restaurants might be closed over the Easter weekend? Also what sort of celebrations go on on Bonaire over Easter?

We were on Bonaire over Easter weekend last year. If events follow the same schedule this year, be prepared for stores and many restaurants to be closed on Good Friday, open on Saturday, and closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Shop on Thursday and Saturday if you are self-catering. We had dinner at Garden Cafe last Easter - it was lovely. Have a great time!

Don't plan on shopping on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday. We've never been inconvenienced too much by this. Look for crowds at Cultimara on Saturday, though. You just have to plan ahead for groceries, etc.

Resort restaurants are open and some of the regular in-town restaurants also.

There usually is a Sunrise Service affiliated with the International Bible Church up at the monument.

This will be our 4th annual trip and we always seem to spend Easter on Bonaire and it actually is totally unplanned.

Oh ....the diving "pool" is still open.
