That's a better price than what we have to pay in New Jersey! LOL. Another good reason to leave here and move to Bonaire....better cable at a more reasonable price. Carole

Does TV Dish work in Bonaire?

Couldn't get any of the folks at Direct TV to commit one way or the other as to if a Dish would work or not

Thank You

Brian

Brian,

You can get DirectTV here via a sales office in Curacao or one in Trinidad, but doing so means you don't get any U.S. broadcast networks (because of regional copyright issues). You can't reach the U.S. DTV satellite transponders from Bonaire - you have to point at the DirectTV Latin America satellite. The only way to get US networks via that satellite is via pirated access, or buying a DirectTV system and subscription from DirectTV Puerto Rico and then using it on Bonaire.

Your other options are TDS - digital broadcast antenna (also NAF 65/month) which does offer FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC as well as several dozen other channels. Only drawback is that the signal drops out every so often, but when it's working, it's pretty crisp; or, you can get a C-band or Dish Network dish. Both require U.S. based addresses for subscriptions to programming though (you are technically not allowed to subscribe to programming outside the U.S.).

Jake
