It seems as thought the options for getting to Bonaire just keep getting more confusing. We are currently trying to change some late December early January plans. We had planned on going to the Bahamas, but fear it might be a bit chilly. We already have reservations into Ft. Lauderdale. Are there any flights into Bonaire from Ft. Lauderdale?
Thanks,
Nancy

Nancy -

I believe if you will check out http://www.travelocity.com and http://www.cheaptickets.com you will see a couple of options for a routing from Ft. Lauderdale-BON in January (depends on the exact day of the week).

You probably would be well advised also to check out http://www.orbitz.com as well as the proprietary sites for American and Air Jamaica.

Good luck!

There are flights from FLL but I found they are(sadly)quite a bit more expensive than through Miami.

Thanks for the info about Ft. Lauderdale to Bonaire. Maybe I'll just wait until Spring or Summer and try a more direct route. The Bahamas in December won't be as nice as Bonaire, but --Oh well! Does anyone have advice on getting to Bonaire from Michigan? If we can't go this December, we'll surely try for June. We have always flown to Curacao and then on to Bonaire, but it seems as though there might be better options.

Check out Air Jamaica. It is one of the gateway cities that connect via Montego Bay...

Depending on how everything shakes out with American and American Eagle by this summer, you might consider American or whomever to San Juan then San Juan non-stop to Bonaire with American Eagle.

The schedule may not be the best, but it avoids Curacao and/or Aruba and gets you directly into Bonaire.

In the past, we've been able to use a non-stop DFW-SJU then SJU-BON on American.

Nancy,
Get in touch with Andy at Bonaire Pros. It seems that American Airlines has added more flights/week to Bonaire for the next couple of months. In the past it was always cheaper for us to fly into FLL (6-8 people) then rent a car/van one way to MIA to catch a flight out to BON. This only works if you have the time inbetween flights.... its about a 45 min drive from FLL-MIA.
