We are flying AA to Cur then DAE to Bon.
A few weeks later we go DAE from Bon to Cur then AA from Cur to the states. The taxes are NOT in our award tickets so....what taxes can we expect coming and going? If it makes any difference we are NOT staying overnite in Cur, just changing planes.
Thanks

We flew AA award tickets to Curacao and the taxes are included, the only tax that is not included is the local departure tax between islands which is something like $2.00. We did stay over night in Curacao.

As long as you stay less than 24 hours in Curacao they should only charge you the $2.00 transit tax.

We bought our award tickets in July 2010, and I called AA -the taxes are POSITIVLY NOT included in our tickets....so now what are the taxes we will encounter?

If it were me, I'd pay the local departure tax from BON/CUR (about $9), then the $2 transfer tax in CUR (you show your BON/CUR DAE ticket at the CUR tax window to prove you're in transit). For some reason, DAE is still not including departure taxes in their tickets--all other airlines are. Worse case scenario, in CUR they force you to pay an international departure tax, which is about $32.

Just came back from Bonaire last week flying the Mia/Cur/Bon connection. We had to pay the $2 transit tax from Cur to Bon and the $9 departure tax from Bon back to Cur. No biggie. Just make sure when you leave Bon this route you tell them your final destination is Cur. If you pay the full $32 leaving Bon via this route you're overpaying. You shouldn't pay any taxes when leaving Cur back to the US.
