It looks like effective today AA increase the mileage requirement to 35K to Bonaire for off peak travel.

Yes they did Eric. Not only did they raise the mileage requirement they have also cancelled flights recently making it more difficult to get to our favorite island.

Is it just Bonaire or is that the new off peak level everywhere AA flies?

Did an AA first class upgrade go up too? Used to be 15,000 miles each way (I think). I know, go to aa.com....just thought I'd ask...

Good luck using AA miles. I have always done this in the past..now it's higher miles or nearly impossible. In the past, getting the routine ticket meant reserving far in advance to get the Advantage seats. Now they have eliminated the direct flights for the coach reward amount. To get a flight from DFW/SJu/BON they required me to go to the 60,000 (anytime miles). Otherwise, it would take me through 2 or 3 stops to get to San Juan. My other previous ploy was DFW/MIA/CUR, then Divi to Bon. Now the flights in and out of Curacao get in too late, or leave too early. It would require an overnight in CUR each way.
