I am planning to visit Bonaire for a dive trip in Jan or Feb 2009. Are there any weeks that anyone recommends avoiding? Extra crowded bc of a local festival, US or Dutch school holiday, etc.

Are there any weeks that you particularly recommend? Better weather, less crowded?

Having specialized in Caribbean travel, I find the weeks right after New Years are less crowded. Avoid Feb. 14 until early March. That is big travel for US visitors. I also think some schools in Holland have the last week of Feb. off.

We were in Bonaire the last 2 weeks of January 08 and found the island to be perfect. It was not very crowded, very little wait at restaurants. And the weather was beautiful. We did make our dive reservations in advance and I'm happy about that because our dives were full.
We're going back the same weeks in 2009.
