Diane and Bea, the hotel in the airport is "supposed" to have a casino, I've never checked it out. On this link it says the casino will be open from 6am to 12 midnight.

Several years ago when I had a long San Juan layover, my friend and I took a cab to Denny's for breakfast. We then went to the beach for a stroll ... and wandered into a big nice hotel ... i want to say it was the Ritz? In any event, it was a great place ... with a nice casino. We went in and dropped some of the coins we were dragging around into the slots ...

So if you have the time for a ride to town, that is a great place to visit ... we then just got a cab back to the airport.

I just spent a pleasant few hours in the Best Western Casino at the SJ airport last weeks --- it has slots (starting from one penny!), as well as roulette and some table games... It was a no-stress, don't have to go anywhere, way to kill time. I actually came out a dollar or so ahead. You can have the lady at the hospitality desk inside hold on to carry-on bags, if you wish -- this was nice!

AA employees need to learn how to smile in SJU. Other than that, nice airport with Casino and sit down restaurants.
