Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if the rumour of daily direct flights from Amsterdam to Bonaire next summer is true? It will make a big difference to our holiday plans from the frozen North of England. (It is actually quicker for us to fly to Amsterdam than try to get to London, 1hr 25mins as opposed to 5 - 7hrs!)
Many thanks,
Julia

The KLM flight should start this summer. The flight continues on to Quito, Ecuador. The current flight numbers are 753 and 754 for the return. The current stop is Curacao and that will be changing to Bonaire. I don't know the exact date of the change.

has anyone heard if the Air Jamaica daily from London will connect with one of the Bonaire flights? They keep saying they are "working on it"

Julia,
The daily KLM flights from Amsterdam to Bonaire are set to start June 1st 2002. These will be in addition to the current Friday and Sunday flights we already have.
Marion.

Julia,

An alternative may be the flights with Sobelair from Brussels. I believe they are still continuing in spite of the bankruptcy of their parent Sabena. You cannot book direct with Sobelair but your travelagent may be able to help you. One of the organizers of these flights is Van der Valk, the owner of the Plaze hotel. They also sell tickets without hotel booking. You can contact them on info@travel.valk.com

Sobel no longer flies to Bonaire.

However, ALM/DCE runs a 3 or 4 times weekly flight from Amsterdam to Curacao (on chartered Sobelair planes) - that seems to be the most reliable part of the whole ALM/DCE empire.
