Just checked with Continental Airlines and they confirmed they are planning a direct service to Bonaire starting Dec 16, 2005. No schedule is available yet, but I will assume this will be from Houston, Tx. and/or Newark, NJ. Guess we will have to wait and see what this service looks like, but any direct service will be better than what is currently available. Let's hope they don't change their minds at the last minute.

We are already booked doing a red eye. Leaving on a Friday afternoon from Chicago to Houston. Leaving Houston at 11:30 pm and arriving Bonaire at 5:15 AM...... Can't wait ! :-)

Alan,

They will be doing the direct service from Houston starting the 16th. Direct service to Curacao will start 17th via EWR.

Please define the 'direct service', and 'via' versus 'departing from' in the case of EWR. Is 'direct' non-stop? 'Direct' often has meant stops on the way w/o change of plane rather than 'non-stop'.

Glen, the flight from EWR to CUR is a non stop. They will also be starting non stop service from LGA to AUA.

Thanks Smack! From what I understand the Newark to Curacao flight is also non-stop.

Don't know about the LGA to AUA flight though.

Are these other flights also "red eyes"?

Thanks Liz. Curacao seems to be the better choice. We're trying the Miami/Curacao flight in Oct. After this past trip, being stuck in SJ for 4 days and a "too bad" attitude from American Eagle, I'm over that stop! Aruba would be great, but the horror stories about BE make it not worth it.
