AJ Cancels Boston to Jamaica
I recall someone saying that Boston to Montego Bay was now a mis-connect for on-going Saturday flights to Bonaire, but the final nail in the Boston-Bonaire coffin via AJ is that AJ has announced that it is cancelling Boston to Jamaica flights entirely (courtesy of Travel Weekly):
Air Jamaica to suspend Boston-Jamaica flights (07/21/2005)
KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Air Jamaica will suspend its four weekly flights between Boston and Jamaica, effective Sept. 9.
Passengers who have been ticketed for travel from Sept. 9 onward will be accommodated on Delta and US Airways.
According to Tom Hill, Air Jamaica’s chief revenue officer, the suspension is part of a restructuring effort intended to improve the airline’s financial viability.
“The Boston route is very costly to operate, and these costs are set to increase even further in the coming months,” he said.
Since the airline’s restructuring began nearly seven months ago, several routes to and from Jamaica have been cut, including Bonaire, St. Lucia, Antigua, Manchester (U.K.) and Houston.
The carrier also will close its Atlanta sales office July 31, although it will continue to offer daily nonstop service between Atlanta and Jamaica.

Jake, thanks for the update.

Thanks Jake. Suspending the Boston-Jamaica route doesn't effect us but I am sure it does many others. Hope everyone can find an alternate route. For us it will be the Houston-Bonaire route as we only live 100 miles north of Houston.
