Anyone traveled from Texas and can give suggestions on who to use.
We live in Abilene and usually have to travel to DFW or Houston to go anywhere anyway.

good luck and welcome to bonairetalks. all questions welcomed, normally overanswered by a group that loves to share vicariously with those who can get back to bonaire before they can

We are headed from Alaska to Bonaire in November and are routing through DFW and San Juan on American. Were able to use Alaska Airlines miles to get free tickets all the way to BON by routing that way. Saved about 11 million dollars I think?

Mark -

From Abilene, we would recommend you pick up AA at DFW and take the DFW-San Juan-Bonaire routing.

We've been quite satisfied with the service, given the usual caution about all airlines, and it gets us to/from Bonaire faster and more directly than any other logical routing. The only real negative for us is the very early return departure time. But at least on your return you could get all the way home to Abilene before too late.

The last time I looked, Air Jamaica from Houston to Bonaire required an overnight in Jamaica because of the depature time from Houston. For y'all (and us), it would also require an overnight in Houston, coming and gong, for the same reason.

If you need any more Texas-based specific details, fee free to contact us directly.

Oh, by the way, topside Bonaire looks a lot like Taylor County...without the towering mountains. You're gonna' love it!

Mark and Charles, Air Jamaica changed there time back to the same day service from Houston-Bonaire. The flight leaves at 7:35 AM and arriving in Bonaire at 2:30 PM (summer hours). Returning Bonaire at 3:10 PM and arriving in Houston at 8:05 PM. We are leaving Houston on June 5. Gary & Kathy Long

Gary & Kathy -

Glad you got a good schedule and thank you for updating my information.

We've heard many good reports on AJ and their schedule is certainly a winner. Besides, spending the night in Houston will give you a chance to collect some rain to bring back to West Texas.

Bon bini a Bonaire!

For the last three years, we have flown AA from D/FW to San Juan, then American Eagle to Bonaire. Not a problem so far. Last year we went to Bonaire in May and September without a hitch.

Most of the American Eagle flights are less than 1/2 full.
