Afternoon everyone

After falling in love with the island, my partner and I would like to stay for 6 months however, I am still unsure of how to deal with the filing of papers in person for residence in Bonaire. Would this not become a problem for immigration when entering Bonaire? or do we go as tourists and complete documents while we are there? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. As you can tell, I am definitely confused!

p.s I am from England

Lisa.

If you only plan to stay for 6 months then I would not suggest applying for residency.

It is possible to stay for 3 months as a tourist and then you can apply for an extension. If that is declined, just leave the island for a few days and return.

If you are looking to reside on Bonaire long term then you can get someone to do the paperwork for you. I suggest looking at www.sunbeltbonaire.com who cover the subject.

I moved from the UK to Bonaire and would be happy to help if you would like to email me.

Hello Antony

Thanks so much for your advice, that was really helpful. I'd love to email you if that is ok with you (sorry to be a nuisance) but so pleased to hear from someone who has actually done it!

Thanks so much again, great news!!!!!

Hello Jaen, my name is Valérie Torres, that's funny, i'am spanish you need to know that you must ask for all the forms to immigration and return it before your moving because once you ask for residence permit you can't stay inside the island and concerning the work permit it's your boss that must ask it for you
kinds regards and good luck Val
